Just a little patch with some free motion practice.
BUT! What I really want to show you is My friend Traci Wood Reynolds awesome, unique, and sometimes strange art she makes every day! Traci is a talented polymer clay sculpter and master wire doll maker. She's one to keep an eye on. This is just a sampling of her work.

Made this today with my friend Terry. It's not ahhhhhmazing, but it's simple and cute. Terry's turned out waaaaay better than this one. It does have a few neat bits.
A: Pages from an old dictionary
B: A little goldfish action
C: The inside of a security envelope with window
D: A stamp from like 1971 from a set of office stamps (these were the coolest!)
I just covered the inside of the book with a bit of pretty paper and some recycled 'stamps'
I have a few more I am making, I'm excited to see how they come out!

Finally finished!
This hit the post this afternoon, should be at the skull-a-day secret headquarters very very soon.

Alrighty, just a sneak peek of the quilt square I am working on for the Art Quilt Fundraiser over at Skull-a-day, benefiting Becky's Fund.
Not done yet, Hopefully tomorrow! Right now it's still wet and I can't do anything else I have planned for it yet!
Know what's funny about this? I've had the idea to do a quilt for a while (art quilt, not cozy quilt), not involving skulls mind you, but this has kick-started my brainstorming process. yay.

Soooooo, today I sketched from a picture on my friend's site Smunch. You might remember her, she did the pictures of Harper and Xav. Lauren is adorable, and I tried to catch her spirit in my drawing, in my own way.

day 143--part of a larger project, from a family portrait shoot for Christmas.
Day 144--Pretty candle at the house in honor of Christian, lit this two nights in a row.
Day 145-- This is a picture I took at the State fair a few months ago, but I love the colors and textures so... Plus that's my motto. I want to experience every good thing.
I went to the founding meeting today of a new mixed media group in town. There weere seven great artists there, and I am honored to have been invited. I'm looking forward to working and learning from them all! Our first thing is an Altered Book round robin! So excited! You can look here for lots of info on Altered Books. The theme I have chosen is...dun dun duh dah! Self portrait. How did you guess? I am for sure going to incorporate that quote into my book.
I will be sure and keep you posted of my progress! Some of the themes I will be working on (in other people's books) are Celtic, Sewing, Steampunk among others! Excited!
