I hope everyone has been having a great holiday season so far! I know I certainly have. I was just washing and puting away a gift I recieved from my mother-in-law er...Santa, when I realized just how much I loved looking at it; a new place setting of Fiestaware; a new color for my collection.
Fiestaware stole my heart the first time I dined on a piece. The first time I remember using it was at my Aunt Teeney's house, she has an enourmous collection. At that moment I knew when I was in charge of my life (whatever that means) I would have them as my dishes. So, when I moved out the first thing my mom gave me for my apartment was Fiesta and some toilet paper, but that's a different story.
I love the weight, the thickness, the COLORS, the durability, and even the way it wears in, more lovely after years than the first day. If you haven't experienced it, a piece of Fiesta will show slight fork marks from meals past. I love remembering the parties, meals, and gatherings found in those tine marks.
The simplicity of Fiesta, with the vibrant colors are what makes them ART for me! Aren't they pretty? A few pieces from my collection.
aren't you supposed to be cleaning the kitchen... not taking pictures of it? I'm just saying?

Hahaha! It's done, so I gave myself permission before I head to the GoodWill and the dump! Love you!

I love Fiestaware, too... although for our wedding we registered for only periwinkle and cobalt (our wedding colors) and now I wish I would have registered for a rainbow! I wonder if anyone else in my situation would be interested in trading a place setting or two, lol! :)

I think that that is a great idea!! In fact, my sister in law just added yellow to her original cobalt set.
Interesting idea...
