Here are some pictures taken during some community service we did in New Orleans, in the Gentilly area. My team painted a whole house, yellow and green, it was great, looked like a whole new house when we were done.
I've never been and am very excited to see all the sights and sounds the town has to offer. I will also be taking some time to see what has been done since the wake of Katrina.
While I am there I will be doing some training for work, but we will also be working with local organizations to rebuild homes in the area as well. This is what I am most excited about.
Isn't it amazingly sad that after 3 years there is still so much to be done. I sit here and say this, but other than donating some money, I haven't gotten off my butt to DO anything yet. I will next week, and I am glad.
okay so any and all comments are appreciated, CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is welcome as well.... these were both done by me in my drawing class...I still have a lot to learn!
I really like how the pears came out, and I am gonna frame and put it in the house somewhere. The koi have a way to go still. There is something missing, and I am sure I will figure something out, but right now it is still a work in progress.
I think I must have been 13 the last time I tie dyed anything! That was until Sunday. I have a big convention coming up at the end of the month for work, and we will be doing a great big community service project while we are there. My boss thought it would be a great idea if we had matching shirts for that special day....a team thing.
We all really had a good time, and the shirts didn't come out half bad...for tie dye.
