So full day one, or day two in Yellowstone. We stayed a nice little Dude ranch the night before, the place was rustic, clean, and the people were super friendly, I definitely recommend the Shoshone lodge, outside the park. Plus they had the nicest three dogs just running around the place, felt like home away from home.
We may have accomplished more if I hadn't fallen down a cliff in the geyser basin on our way down from a hike to the top of the Old Faithful observation point. I was kinda in a mood by the time I scrapped a 6X6 inch section of my right leg, and arm, bruised my chin, hands, knee and hit my head. Not to mention covered myself in yellow dirt.
After all that fun we went to the falls, made some stops between and then went to the preserve, which was very cool. Where we met a very nice couple, Karen and Larry, who gave us the ins and outs of the park as they have been regulars there for years.
The discovery center, or preserve was a chance to see Grizzly and Grey wolves, which are hard to see in the park unless you are camped out for hours and days at a time and really know where to be and when, or are in the waaaay back country, none of which we were. It was interesting to learn about these animals, for the most part just seem misunderstood. Now don't get me wrong I wouldn't want to meet a hungry one any where, but they do deserve a great place to live and be.
