Okay, so this painting isn't brand new. I did it mostly last semester, but this summer I did a bit more, So...I guess it is new, cause it is finaly finished.
It is acrylic, pieces of window screen, and graphite.
Really, when it comes to updating I have been slacking, but let me assure you I HAVE NOT been slacking where it really counts---> in the studio! In fact I am taking an installation class and making a mobile wearable, designing a studio installation, participating in building an installation on the porch of the art department and working on Green-ifying a shed on campus!
Here are some of the mobile wearable sketches, nothing special, but an idea for ya!
This image is part of the process for me. I have been working on a new painting so I attached a loose piece of canvas below the painting on the support structure of the main canvas.
Anyway...I have been working with a spray bottle A LOT on this one. SO FUN. Of course while I am using the spray bottle there is water and paint dripping everywhere, now it is dripping down to this scrap piece of canvas!
It's like two pieces of art in one! LOVE THAT!
This is after only a few drips, can't wait to make more today!
I'm still working on the paintings I showed you last week, I thought I would give you a look at where I am now, about 8 more layers in... and some detail shots. This is a portion of one of three panels.
Here is a sneak peek into the paiting I have been working on. This in its first phase, more updates next week. There are 3 panels total, with a completed size of L10' X H 2'.5".
(I'm posting them top to bottom, but they are actually aligned left to right. TOP= Left, MIDDLE= Middle, BOTTOM= Right)
